How much will your lift cost?

Two free calculators, sized for the two types of customer we serve in Ireland. Pick the one that matches your situation and get a real estimate in 60 seconds — including grant or funding context.

How accurate are these calculators?

The numbers are based on typical 2026 Irish installer pricing, drawn from current market data across the main brands and installer networks. Real quotes vary by ±15–20% because lifts are sensitive to specifics — staircase shape, brand chosen, finish specification, and the size of the property.

The calculator gives you a planning baseline. It does not replace a site survey. The grant application requires three written quotes from approved installers — we coordinate those as part of our service once you sign up.

Why we built it

Most installer websites won't tell you what their lifts cost without first putting you on the phone with sales. That's frustrating when you're researching for an elderly parent. We think a clear estimate helps you make a better decision faster, so we built a free calculator with no email gating.

Combined with the eligibility checker, you get a clear picture of your real out-of-pocket cost in about a minute, with no calls, emails, or pressure.

What affects the cost of a lift in Ireland

Two homes rarely get the same quote, even for the same lift. These are the things that move the price most.

Stairlifts. A straight staircase is the cheapest fit. A curved staircase needs a custom-bent rail, which is the single biggest cost jump and often doubles the price. After that it is the brand, the fact that grant-funded work must use new equipment, and extras like a powered swivel seat or an outdoor weatherproof model.

Accessible bathrooms. Swapping a bath for a level-access shower is the common job. Cost rises with the amount of replumbing, full re-tiling, a widened doorway, and whether the floor needs to be re-laid to drain properly.

Home and platform lifts. These are the biggest spend. Price depends on how many floors, whether it is a through-floor model or an enclosed cabin, the travel height, and the building work needed to form the opening between floors.

Frequently asked questions

Does the estimate include VAT?

The figures are a guide to the typical fitted price. Always confirm whether a real quote is shown including or excluding VAT, as it makes a real difference on the bigger jobs.

Why is my estimate higher than prices I have seen advertised?

Advertised "from" prices are usually a straight stairlift on a simple staircase with no extras. Our estimate reflects a realistic fitted job. Curved rails, outdoor units and powered options all add to it.

Does the calculator factor in the grant?

The home estimate shows grant context, but for your exact percentage and maximum use the eligibility checker. The grant is applied to the lowest reasonable quote, not your highest.

Do I still need three quotes?

Yes. The Housing Adaptation Grant requires three written quotes from approved installers. We source those for you as part of the service, so the calculator is just for planning.
