Stairlift grant in Ireland: what the council actually pays, county by county
A straight stairlift is €2,200 to €5,000. Curved, €5,000 to €10,000. Under €37,500 household income the council pays all of it. The rules are national, the waiting time is not. All 26 counties below.

The private OT route: how to skip the HSE queue for the Housing Adaptation Grant
The OT report is the slowest step in the whole grant. HSE waits run 2 to 6 months depending on county. A private OT costs €250 to €450, reports inside two weeks, and the grant gives €300 of it back.

The 2026/27 season starts Monday 21 September. €38 a week until April, and the over 66s no longer need to be on any welfare payment. Apply before the start date or you lose the first weeks.
