Business grants by county: your Local Enterprise Office and council schemes

National schemes are the same everywhere. What your Local Enterprise Office and your council add is different in every county: who to ring, how applications work, the next closing date, and whether the council has a shop front grant or a rates scheme this year.

Each county page lists the Local Enterprise Office and how it takes applications, what the city or county council gives businesses this year (shop front and paint grants, rates incentives for vacant premises, rebates for small ratepayers), the LEADER groups for rural projects, the local development companies that help people on welfare payments write a business plan, and the questions people ask about that county.

Every entry comes from the office's or the council's own website, with the date we checked it. Where a council ran a scheme in an earlier year and nothing this year, we say so.
