How the finder works
The finder compares your answers with the published rules for every scheme in our guides: the enterprise allowances, the Local Enterprise Office grants and vouchers, employer supports, council schemes, State-backed loans and start-up funding. Each result says why it fits, and the list underneath says which schemes people ask about that will not fit, and why.
Most State cash grants for business are only for manufacturing and exporting firms. If you run a shop, cafe, trade or local service, the finder shows you what is open to you instead, such as the digital and energy vouchers, your council's rates and shop front schemes, and loans.
Nothing you enter is stored or sent unless you ask for the results by email. The finder is a guide, not a decision: the body that runs each scheme decides.
