GRID Finance: €10,000 to €500,000, repaid as a share of your daily sales

GRID Finance gives a business a lump sum and takes it back as a small share of each day's income. It is not priced like a loan. The cost is a fixed amount agreed at the start, plus an arrangement fee of 5%.

How a GRID advance works

GRID calls its product a Receivables Purchase Agreement. It is not a term loan. GRID buys a slice of your future sales, pays you an advance now, and collects until the advance and its cost are repaid.

Repayments start the day the money reaches your account. When trade is quiet you repay less, and when it picks up you repay more.

Each advance runs for up to 12 months. Once it is mostly repaid, you can apply for another.

What it costs

There are two charges. Both are fixed at the start and added to what you owe.

  • Arrangement fee: €5 for every €100 advanced, plus VAT at 23%. On €10,000 that is €500, or €615 with VAT. A VAT-registered business can reclaim the VAT.
  • Discounting cost: set by the amount, the expected term and GRID's view of the risk. GRID's own example puts it at €1,401.18 on a €10,000 advance over 12 months, and €700.59 over 6 months.

GRID does not quote an APR, because the product is not a loan. Your offer letter shows the full cost in euro and the expected term.

There are small running costs too. Each payment into or out of the settlement account costs 49 cent, and so does each direct debit. A failed direct debit costs €10.

Repaying early. There is no early repayment fee. But the cost was fixed at the start, so paying early does not wipe it out. For advances activated from 11 May 2026, GRID may rebate part of the remaining discounting cost if more than 20% of the term is left. The arrangement fee is never refunded.

Changing your mind. You have 7 calendar days after drawdown to return the money and cancel with no discounting cost. The arrangement fee still stands.

Who can apply

  • Limited companies, sole traders and partnerships registered in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Trading for at least 9 months. GRID can count earlier trading as a sole trader.
  • Income of about €10,000 a month or more. A business paid mainly by bank transfer needs turnover of at least €240,000 a year.
  • Tax affairs that GRID can assess. Without a tax clearance certificate, it accepts Revenue screenshots or an accountant's letter explaining any arrears or arrangement.

The amount depends on your revenue. GRID's product pages put the ceiling at 150% of your monthly card takings or trading income.

Who cannot apply

A business trading for less than 9 months cannot apply. GRID funds businesses only, so it does not lend to individuals.

A newer business can look at a State-backed loan that is open from the first day of trading. Our loan finder lets you see which other lenders take a business as young as yours.

What you have to send

GRID says the online application takes about three minutes. It asks for:

There is no business plan to write. GRID says its decisions rest on the strength of your revenue, your time trading and your tax position. Our guide covers what Irish lenders look at when a business asks to borrow.

How long it takes

GRID's product pages say a credit decision comes within 48 hours. Its FAQ says approval can come within 24 hours of a complete application.

After approval, signing the documents and setting up the repayments takes 3 to 7 working days. Then the money is sent to your bank account.

What to know before you sign

  • Personal guarantee. GRID asks for one from the people who sign, in every case. It does not take property as security. On larger amounts it may also ask for a debenture or an assignment of your card receipts.
  • Keep the bank connection live. If the open banking link lapses, GRID collects the average daily repayment plus 15%.
  • If sales fall. The terms let GRID raise the percentage it takes. If your takings stay below 70% of what it expected for a month, it can also start regular direct debits.
  • If you default. The terms allow a recovery charge of 10% of the balance, plus legal and collection costs.
  • Regulation. GRID Finance Impact Limited is on the Central Bank's register as a Schedule 2 firm. That is a registration for anti-money-laundering purposes.
  • Leasing. GRID also names equipment leasing as a product. Its leasing page was not loading on 3 October 2026, so we have no published terms to report.

Common questions

Is a GRID Finance advance a loan?

Not in the usual sense. GRID calls it a Receivables Purchase Agreement: it buys part of your future sales and collects a percentage as the money comes in. There is no interest rate or APR. The cost is a fixed discounting cost plus an arrangement fee, both set at the start.

Can I apply if my tax is not up to date?

Yes. GRID says it will assess an application without a tax clearance certificate if you send Revenue screenshots or a letter from your accountant setting out the position. It still decides each case on its own facts.

Does GRID Finance fund start-ups?

No. The business must be trading for at least 9 months, though GRID can take account of earlier trading as a sole trader. It also looks for income of about €10,000 a month.

Do I have to give a personal guarantee?

Yes. GRID says it seeks a personal guarantee from the signatories in all instances. It does not ask for security over property.

Can I pay off a GRID advance early?

Yes, at any time, and there is no early repayment fee. The cost was fixed at the outset, so you still owe it, less any rebate your agreement allows. Advances activated from 11 May 2026 may qualify for a rebate if more than 20% of the term remains.
