How this is worked out
The subsidy is paid for each hour worked, between the minimum and maximum weekly hours the scheme sets.
Employers with several employees on the scheme can get a higher rate, and large employers can get a grant towards an Employment Assistance Officer.
The Department of Social Protection decides each application. The employee must be on a contract of employment and paid at least the going rate for the job.
This tool gives an estimate from published rules. It is not a decision, and it is not financial advice. The body that runs the scheme always decides.
