What it is
SEAI pays for and manages the whole upgrade. It is aimed at homeowners on certain welfare payments living in older, less efficient homes.

Worth knowing
Warmer Homes is the most generous SEAI scheme because it is completely free, but demand is high and the waiting time has run to roughly two years. If you qualify (you own the home, it is older and less efficient, and you are on a qualifying payment such as Fuel Allowance or Carer's Allowance), apply as early as you can. While you wait, you can still use the standard individual grants for any work you want to fund yourself.
